Hollywood is shifting. The cost of producing in Los Angeles has become unsustainable for even the largest studios. St. Louis offers something LA cannot — space, affordability, and a city that does not put up walls when you want to create. No excessive permits. No inflated costs just to get a camera rolling. The infrastructure to film here is simpler, faster, and more accessible than it has ever been.

Two major studios are being built within 30 minutes of downtown St. Louis. State film tax incentives are in place. Productions are already looking at this region as a serious home base. This is not speculation. This is happening right now.

But here is what matters most to us. When an industry this large moves into a city, it does not always bring the people of that city with it. It can arrive, extract what it needs, and leave without the local creative community ever having a real seat at the table. We have seen it happen elsewhere and we are not willing to let it happen here.

The Midwest has always had talent. Artists, filmmakers, musicians, performers who have been building something real without the spotlight that other cities take for granted. That changes now. Midwest Tonight exists to make sure that as Hollywood comes to us, our creatives are not spectators. They are participants. They are in the rooms. They are on the sets. They are part of the story being told about this place.
